About the Role

At Capture6 we are developing rapidly-scalable carbon removal and decarbonization solutions and creating environmental benefits to accelerate the transition to a decarbonized global economy. We are seeking a new team member to join our research team to lead buildout of Capture6 storage solutions at a variety of project sites in development globally. This person will play a key role in providing scientific expertise and implementing monitoring, reporting and verification in the near and long term.

What You Will Do

  • Evaluate potential carbonate storage sites for project suitability through comprehensive geological and geographical assessments, engaging advanced techniques including modeling to assess subsurface conditions and characterize reservoirs.
  • Implement deployment of monitoring processes and tools.
  • Proactively verify environmental and safety compliance with evolving regulatory requirements for various storage operations.
  • Develop and implement innovative storage monitoring systems.
  • Document and report records of geological and operational data for internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Work across teams and with a range of external partners to develop evidence-based outputs for a range of audiences
  • Potential for travel to storage sites globally.

What You Will Bring

  • Recent PhD in a relevant field (geology, geochemistry, geophysics or similar) or relevant industrial experience
  • Experience in geological assessments and subsurface characterization
  • Mastery of data analysis
  • Awareness of regulatory frameworks governing subsurface storage
  • Ability to work across multiple scientific disciplines outside your direct field of expertise
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity in fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific topics to a broad range of audiences, including in contributions to grant submissions
  • Creative and open-minded approach to problem solving
  • Self-motivated and flexible with an interest and ability to work across multiple time zones
  • Passionate about tackling the climate crisis

The salary range presented for this full-time role is $80,000 – $100,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, years of experience, and location. The range represents the minimum and maximum potential salaries for new hires in this particular position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Please note that the compensation details for this role reflect the cash compensation only and do not include equity or other benefits.
